The Museum of Vancouver is showing a facinating exhibition on the neon signs that once light up Vancouver streets in the 50's, 60's and 70's. During that time Vancouver had somewhere around 19,000 neon signs, and in the 50's we were known as the "neon capital of Canada". The exhibition shows how quickly they became so popular and quickly vanished from the streets. Take a look at these iconic Fred Herzog photos from that time that show just how neon the streets were.

The show opened on October 13, 2011 and runs until August 12, 2010 at the Museum of Vancouver in Vanier Park.
